I have created a free tool to simplify importing custom shells designed with SketchUp (free version) into EnclosureShop.

The program can be downloaded from the File Downloads, Miscellaneous Files section of the LinearX site. Look for SkpToObj_v1_00.zip. In addition to the program and supporting DLLs, the archive contains a brief description (SkpToObj_Doc.pdf) and a few example files to get you started.

If you decide to try it out, please let me know what you find using the link in the About box or the PDF. (Note: LinearX is not responsible for this program so please don't ask them for help.)

Hi Mr. Robert,

Thanks for this usefull software.

This came in good time because i'm working recently around some custom curvilinear shapes into my project and the SK 8 Pro is excellent if i need animation/rendering later the project using one same software.
I made a unusual (and only for test) bullet shape with 289 faces using the follow-me tool and the LEAP acceppted without restrictions.

The only question I have is:

If for instance I move the model and return to inicial position putting [0,0,0] in the bottom right box on the screen I have a message "unable to locate front face".

How can I restore the initial position and process the file again(if this is possible) ?

Thank's once more.

Hi, Joao.

If I understand the question, yes, you should be able to relocate the object back to its original location and reprocess it. Assuming that you have not rotated the object (using the protractor/rotate tool), you can use the tape measure tool to determine absolute distances from the individual axes. You then move by the offsets (not [0,0,0]) in the measurement box.

If that doesn't solve it, you can send me a copy of your SU model at the address in the SkpToObj About box and I'll take a look.

Thank you Robert.

I can reprocess the file again but because the axis was not exactly in the edges I use another technique. I have to define a temporarily plane in 2 of the axis and move the model until the front face are coplanar with that plane.

Anyway is not good ideia to move or rotate the model at all special if we move the axis later!. I'm not "100%" on SK yet...

I give a tip I saw on internet to recognize in real time the aligment of the edges with the axis if the model start to begin a little complex.

1. Select "Window" from the toolbar
2. Choose "styles" option.
3. Click on "Edit" box and check "edges" box (and "back edges" if you need/like).
On "Color" option choose "By the axis".

After you draw a line and if the line is parallel with the axis the line take the same color of that axis permanently.

Thank's and good work.
