Dear Chris,

I have a new IBM notebook, and as it does not have any rs232 ports I have purchased a PCMCIA to RS232, but unfortanetly I have not been abble to comunicate between the notebook and the PAC. The system runs Win XP Home and recognizes Ok the com ports and says that there are not any conflicts,

Please any suggestions on how to solve the problem, I need to use the system fairly soon!!

Many thanks

That is a range check error. It is not happy about something. Make sure it is installed in the root such as C:\PCRTA, not under program files. It could be due to a configuration problem with your PCMCIA setup. Something funny like a high number for the COM port indexes.

OTher than that have not heard of that error before.

Dear Chris,

Many thanks for your answer. I have reinstall in the root directory. But it has given me the same error, but this time when I change the baud rate below 57600 it works fine, but if I apply the quickest baud rate it gives the same error message. So I will use the lower baud rates. :)
