View Full Version : Digital IIR Transform, Matched-Z dialog box hang?

I was making an Analog Allpole filter first, then selecting: Digital IIR Transform -> Matched-Z to create a 6th order HP filter.

As I experimented with different Single/Parallel/Cascade options I kept getting stuck where the dialog box would do Help, but not Ok or Cancel, so I had to reboot, time and time again.

This is the new FilterShop Lite code.

Hi:

We will need to see your FSD file to recreate the problem. This is going to be very specific to your data and parameters. That's the first report we've had in that area so I can only give some general info without seeing the data.

There is not always an IIR transform to any analog filter. So depending on what your analog filter is, the IIR solution you are attempting may not be possible. You could try different methods and other transform parameters. You could also be setting up a problem that has no solution due to sampling rate, pole/zero freqs locations, repeated poles, topology choices, etc. Some topologies/methods will only work for certain kinds of filters (pole/zero locations). That's why there are different methods.

Send your file attached to an email to support@linearx.com

Hi Chris,

I haven't been able to reproduce the hang. I'll keep watching for it and what causes it.

It probably happened some time when I changed the IIR settings without first switching over to the Analog prototype.

Chris,

I think I found out what was going on with that
dialog box. It was covering another small dialog
box that needed to be clicked before I could
cancel the operation with the top box.

The top box let me do Help, that was all.
